FAQ's

Welcome to our frequently asked questions page! Below you'll find answers to the questions we hear most often.

Have a question regarding our services?

We may have some answers for you! We're always happy to chat and help you find the perfect solution for your painting needs. Thank you for considering us for your next project!

How do I get started with your painting services?

Getting started with us is easy! If you give us a call or fill out the form on our website, we will provide you with a free estimate and schedule you into our calendar once you have accepted our proposal.

How many bids should I get?

In most cases it is ideal to receive 3 bids from local painting contractors. That way you can compare first impressions, project details and pricing. Unfortunately there are painting contractors with questionable business practices. Going with the lowest bid isn't always in your best interest if it means compromising on the quality of materials, business qualifications and/or practice standards brought into your home. Remember, prioritizing quality over cost will yield much better results and overall experience.

What brand of paint do you use?

At Grey Wolf Painting we always use the best paint for your project, and we've tried them all! Sherwin Williams is a top-notch paint line, known for its durability. There are many different coatings within SW to choose from, and we will suggest the right paint for your project based on the durability/finish as well as the way it performs during the painting process.

Can you help me choose the right colors for my project?

Absolutely! We can make recommendations based on your ideas, or refer you to a color specialist who can work with you to create a detailed color scheme. Visiting the Sherwin Williams Website is a great place to start!

What if I've already chosen my color?

We will always work with your preferences! If you have a specific paint brand in mind, so long as we believe it will perform well, we are happy to use it. Pricing may change depending on the cost of your paint brand selection. Otherwise we can have your color perfectly matched and added to the paint coating ideal for your project.

What happens if I'm not satisfied with the work

If, despite our best efforts, you are dissatisfied with the results for any reason, please let us know and we will do everything in our power to make things right. Our number one priority is to provide each and every one of our clients with the highest level of service possible.

Can I paint over existing wallpaper?

In most cases, it is not recommended to paint over existing wallpaper. Over time, the wallpaper's adhesive can weaken, leading to peeling or bubbling when paint is applied.

Which sheen should I choose?

When deciding between low-sheen, medium-sheen, or high-sheen paint finishes, here are some safe guidelines: For walls and ceilings: use zero- or low-sheen paint finishes, such as a high-quality flat, matte, or eggshell paint. (For ceilings, you can default to a flat paint sheen.) For cabinetry and woodwork: use satin, which is a medium-sheen paint. Unlike most walls, woodwork is already paper-smooth, so the light hitting it won’t bounce off every little bump, and a satin sheen will give your woodwork a soft, gentle luster. Save high-gloss paints for high impact spaces, or for maximum durability!

Do I need to move my furniture before the painters arrive?

In order to protect both your belongings and the painters working on your walls, we strongly suggest moving any furniture or other items that are close to the walls to another part of the room. However, if you are unable to move the furniture on your own, we are able to assist you in doing so.

How long does a painting project typically take?

The timeline for a painting project depends on the size and scope of the job. We can usually complete exterior projects within 1 week. We always work efficiently to get the job done as quickly as possible while maintaining high quality standards.
